If you system has both "/usr/bin" and "/usr/local/bin" and both are on
the PATH, a common convention was that "/usr/bin" is for vendor supplied
binaries and "/usr/local/bin" is for user installed binaries perhaps so
that they don't get lost etc after vendor upgrade or easy to remove.
