Complain might have been a bitr strng - what happens is that a user
might report a fault with DASH and after a while debugging you find the
problem is actually in HLS - user has forgotten they changed pref.  - so
life becomes simpler if features are identical - both for debugging and
in answering questions abotu why there is a difference.

1.4.8 was an attempt to minimise some of this by improving so of the
fetching of packets.  If a packet is slow then you get rebuffering
because data has arrived in sequeence just not received in time. However
if packet does nto arrive at all - then stream stops.  Besides cache,
1.4.8 had a start delay which some user didn't like.

HLS is there because Triode implemented it.  I only do simple
maintenance but I can't do anything more as I don't have any other Apple
HLS player (e.g. iphone).  HLS has a similar rebuffering issues which I
think has the same underlying cause as the DASH rebuffering so again the
two protocols progress together.
