Complain might have been a bitr strng - what happens is that a user might report a fault with DASH and after a while debugging you find the problem is actually in HLS - user has forgotten they changed pref. - so life becomes simpler if features are identical - both for debugging and in answering questions abotu why there is a difference. > Your post above has made me think about an occasional problem that may > give you another clue. This is a random occurance and less common than the > re-buffering. 1.4.8 was an attempt to minimise some of this by improving so of the fetching of packets. If a packet is slow then you get rebuffering because data has arrived in sequeence just not received in time. However if packet does nto arrive at all - then stream stops. Besides cache, 1.4.8 had a start delay which some user didn't like. > The plugin works fine for me at the moment with HLS set as the first > file type, but I am happy to switch over to DASH at any point if you > want anything tested. Thanks for all your endeavours, we all owe you a > lot. HLS is there because Triode implemented it. I only do simple maintenance but I can't do anything more as I don't have any other Apple HLS player (e.g. iphone). HLS has a similar rebuffering issues which I think has the same underlying cause as the DASH rebuffering so again the two protocols progress together. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
