"I have to go upstairs for a minute first," she said turning to go.  "It was nice meeting you..." she called over her shoulder as she ran upstairs.     "Coffee.. yeah that sounds good." Julia blinked and looked after the girl as she ran up the stairs, then looked at Derek before letting him guide her to the kitchen.  But, because of the feeling she was getting..... Derek's hesitancy, noticing things different in the house.. the way he cut the girl.... Kat, Kat was a pretty name, but still, cut Kat off.... she didn't wait for the coffee.  She stopped just inside the - yes, different styled kitchen - and looked down at her bare feet, Nick's sweatshirt and then back up at the back of the Precept's back and asked point blank  "What is today's date, Derek?"   She wasn't going to sit down and drink, she wasn't going to be led into another room.. if she had to she'd pick up the phone and call Nick herself to get some straight answers, but she was going to get them.   A cold fear started to grow in her stomach.....   [tbc]
