Julia took one step back, knocked into the wall and turned to fumble with
the phone.... 2001?? She was a member of the Legacy... she had seen some
weird out of this world -- but 2001??? She dropped the phone and backed up
into another wall, eyes wide and that feeling in the pit of her stomach now
exploding into a near cold panic.

"Nick... call Nick...." her gaze shot to Derek and she pressed herself
against the wall trying to get a hold of herself even as the full impact of
what Derek just said hit her. The one person that had always been there for
her; late night raids to the kitchen and more... She started to sink to
the floor just sitting there. Where in the hell had she been for -- she
looked up at Derek and shook her head "It's a mistake.... oh god Derek....
call him."

Her voice had grown into a low desperate whisper. If anyone could help her
Nick could. She drew her knees up to her, wrapped her arms around then and
lowered her forehead to her knees and started rocking. Oh god, oh god oh
god... what was going on?? She was pretty sure that no matter how much she
was trying to keep even a thread of it together.. if Derek touched her she
would lose it.

Three... four years......

Where the Hell is Rachel when I need her, Derek thought furiously. He
wanted to do something to comfort Julia, but had no clue what would help the
situation. He approached her slowly, sitting down on the floor beside her
and gently putting an arm around her. "Julia, everything will be fine.
We'll work this out." By this point he felt quite sure that this was in
fact Julia, either that or a very extravagant hoax. "I'll try to contact
Nick....but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to reach him." With caller
ID on the cell phone and the mood Nick was in when he stormed out, Derek was
a bit concerned that his young friend wouldn't answer or if he did would
hang up as soon as he heard the precept's voice. That's even assuming that
he had the damned thing turned on.

Derek reached for the phone and dialed Nick's cell phone number, then waited
trying to be patient both with Nick and Julia. She had every right to be
hysterical, but Derek was certainly not prepared to see her like this.
