Derek:
He was planning to stay up pretty late anyway and figured he could bring a
laptop in and sit with her and perhaps have RAchel take a shift later. In
fact, Derek did do this until the call came in from Milo. He was surprised
to hear from his friend, but glad under the circumstances. However, when
the man arrived Derek never got the chance to discuss the computer break in
with him, between hearing Milo's shocking news and then the man's drinking.
He did manage to get RAchel in with Julia for awhile and he returned to his
post after Milo went to bed, staying thee until he was quite sure she was
sleeping for the entire night. He went to bed fairly late that night.
He awoke later than usually, but then again Derek had never been what one
would call a morning person, so it wasn't all that late. By the standards
he liked, but never got to live by, it was still relatively early when he
made his way down to the kitchen for coffee.
