Derek stood up as Claire entered the room and remained standing until both
she and Reese were seated. "So, this is you're daughter," he said to
Milo, then he grinned, "Fortunately, she takes after her mother."
Samantha sat patiently, though she found Julia's...presence a tad bit
irritating. She smiled up at Derek, impressed with his manners, something
most men seem to have lost, in her opinion.

Julia chuckled at that, knowing that that was the way the friends spoke to
each other and shaking her head ruefully before standing to shake Reese's
hand and then sit back down "Julia Walker. I take it your first visit is
going well?"
Reese regarded the other woman, her lips twitching humorously at the
underlying feeling she could see coming from her friend towards her and
betting her last dollar it had to do with the man now sitting back down in
the chair.
But the woman had a friendly smile and gaze, even if she wasn't aware of
Sam's well-hidden reaction to her. Dark brown black hair, clear intelligent
blue eyes and an open manner. Marissa bet this one was someone followed the
beat of her own drum and would argue with the maestro if he thought it the
beat was off or wasn't what he wanted.
Reese nodded at Julia Walker's question and looked at the one that had
caught Sam's attention and deciding he was definitely a maestro and probably
did have a time or two in telling the other the beat was off.
She smiled to include Derek "And I was just told about a stay in prison you
were a part of. You don't strike me as the overly adventurous type though.
More like..... like someone that has a hidden streak in them but is all
business until someone finds it."
Julia deserved an award for not laughing at that one, really she did and
shifted to try and get her mind off of Derek's threat about tossing her over
his arm. Marissa Morgan had nailed it on the head for the most part.
"Seems adventure runs in all of us." she turned the topic to the couple
sitting on a small sofa regarding them "Admittedly, it's been a while since
I've had access to the computers to put up blocks and they are up now but
why exactly did you hack the system?"
Claire looked at Brady and then raised her chin, answering honestly "Reese
has been through enough already, what with her aunt and mother dying at the
same time and.. other things."
The 'other things was her abilities and Claire wasn't going to talk about
those until Reese brought it up.
"The last thing she needed was, no insult intended," she assured Milo now
that they knew he was the real thing "was someone to add on to it and claim
something they weren't."
