Derek:
Derek smiled gravely at Reese, "it was not one of my proudest moments," he
admitted, though without any elaboration. He was speaking more of the
prison time than the work with Green Peace, at the time the work seemed like
the right thing to do. Though as he thought about the ashes he and Alex had
recently dumped into the bay, it seemed rather odd that he had been involved
in such things. As for out of character, that was what his mother had said
when she found out. He had wanted to do something his father never would
have done. At the time he was terrible worried that he would turn into
Winston Rayne and was doing everything he could to avoid it, including
joining Green Peace and studying things his father would never have approved
of. His experiences had led him to a few very good friends and in the end
he realized, eventually that he wasn't his father, there were some
similarities, but they were two different men.
Derek was silent while Claire explained why they had gone into the computer
system. But he could only hold his tongue for so long. "If that was your
main goal, why not check public or government records. Anything of any
major significance could have been found there. There was no need to tap
into a private system."
Derek
