Derek gave Julia an encourage smile and then turned his attention to Ingrid.

"That's good, did you get any rest?" He wouldn't put it past his sister to
sit up all night watching just to make sure Kat was sleeping. "Would you
mind taking Kat out for the day? To the zoo and where ever else you think
is appropriate."

NM:
Julia kissed her cheek and sat in another chair, sitting Kat on her lap
facing her so that she could brush the hair from Kat's face and answer her
"She's at your house actually. Still sick but we're going to bring her back
here and let a doctor get her better. As soon as the doctor says so we can
go in and see her. We..we thought you'd feel better if she were here close
to you."

Then she looked into Kat's eyes, her own gentle with just the barest of
worry/sadness in them "Are you okay Kat?"

Ingrid looked at him, then at Julia and back again, smiling her own quiet
encouragement. She could tell they were both concerned "Of course I will.
Will the two of you have enough time today to maybe meet us for lunch?"

And without asking she could tell that her brother was all right. Even if
he hadn't had sleep, he had found some kind of rest, which was good. That
wasn't all she could tell but that was all she was going to delve into at
the moment.

"We both slept like babies." she said, answering his question with a slight
grin and then looked at Kat "The zoo sounds like fun, doesn't it Kat?"

Julia smiled slightly and added "All those monkeys fighting to be the center
of attention and get the bread we're not supposed to feed them..."

Kat wasn't off the hook about what happened but she just wanted to focus on
the fact she was, for now, okay. And she knew getting her out of the house
would help alleviate some of the feeling of being stuck here too. She
remembered Miranda having tried to convince Kat about something along those
lines.
