"Somehow I don't see you as a curator," he said. "We may just have to keep
you as an unofficial...consultant," he added thoughtfully. He'd be damned
if Sloan or anyone else was going to force him to send her elsewhere.

She chuckled softly, seeing the flash of determination in his gaze and
guessing the reason "I didn't even think of the curator part."

She reached over and stroked his cheek before leaning to give it and him a
quick kiss and adding in a more solemn tone "Don't get me wrong, I do want
to be reinstated. But if push comes to shove I could always find employment
somewhere else. And they can stick in their tail pipe if they think I'm
leaving here."

Julia was more than aware of the position the Legacy Council may take, but
she also knew that, no matter what their position on her reinstatement, a
higher Power had returned her and, quite frankly, the Legacy wasn't the only
or last way a person could make a difference in the struggle between
Lightness and Darkness. And she'd be damned if she was going to let
something as simple as man keep her from Derek. If They let her come back,
who was someone like Sloan or whoever decided to nay say her return to the
Legacy to say she wasn't meant to be here.

"I'm pretty good with paperwork but stink at shorthand," she teased him to
draw out another smile "Need a secretary with your work in the Luna
Foundation?"
