His dark eyes then moved to Julia, and he became intensely curious to know
what his friend had said to her. At her words, he stood and walked over to
her hugging her gently.
"So am I," Derek told her honestly. "I suppose that's what happens when two
temperamental people get together. But I don't suppose I'll ever get used
to it." He kissed the top of her head. "So...what did Philip tell you?"
"We're strong willed, not temperamental." she corrected him gently, bringing
her arms around him and closing her eyes as she just soaked in the simple
embrace and the feeling behind it.
Then she chuckled, repeating what Philip had told her, even imitating the
priest's Irish accent "'I told ye so'."
She moved her head so that she was meeting Derek's gaze before elaborating
"The guys used to tease me that I was your favorite. Seeing as they would
send me in to talk to you after you told them no about something that really
needed to be done. Like the new heating unit. Remember that one?"
