As they reached the gate house he noticed Julia's hesitation. "It'll be
fine," he told her, giving her hand a squeeze before opening the door.
"Rachel, Kat?"
Kat came running when she heard the door open. "Hi! You know what you need
down here? A tv...with lots of channels and a vcr."
"Jonathan said he was going to be getting ours.." Rachel came into the room,
drying her hands, pausing only slightly at seeing Julia before smiling with
a measure of hesitancy and then greeting them "And hello you two. I was
just about to get some fruit juice. Interest you in any?"
She looked at Derek and motioned with her head to Julia to join her in the
kitchen "Grade A stuff."
Julia took the signal to mean that Rachel wanted to talk to her and squeezed
Derek's hand before slowly releasing it and going "I'll take some, although
we're kind of on our way to town. I've been getting used to juices lately."
The two women went into the kitchen, leaving Derek with Kat.
