Derek gave Julia an encouraging nod and turned his attention to Kat. "How
are things going," he asked the little girl taking a seat on the sofa.
"Okay, I've helped look after mommy, but it's getting pretty boring around
here. Especially when she's sleeping, she sleeps a lot."
Derek nodded, "that's what will help her get better faster."
"Oh," Kat said thoughtfully, "I guess that's good then, but it sure is
boring."
"We'll have to see what we can do about that," Derek told her with a smile.
"In fact, Julia and i have something for you to do tonight."
"Really what?"
"We need to wait for her to come back," Derek told her. "But I think you'll
like it."
Kat gave him a curious look and began to fidget impatiently.
