Derek sighed and fished his keys out of his pocket. He started the car and headed home, remaining quiet for the entire drive. After parking the car he got out and went around to help Julia out. He slid an arm around her shoulders. He kissed her temple. "I am sorry you had to go through all of this."
"Come on." She knew he had to check in with the others soon, but now.. now she just wanted to feel his arms around her. She hadn't been the only one to go through this and wasn't even sure what all of 'this' was. So, taking the hand of the arm he had around her she walked around the house and toward the beach. Once they reached the water's edge she looked out over it and lifted her chin as the breeze washed over them.
