I am sorry that people are experiencing performance issues.

I myself not seen any performance degradations with my PowerPro
configuration, after testing with both with plain 4.4 and also the
latest 4.4.04c.

If you have noticed changes in performance, make sure you retest on
older versions using current configuration. For example, if you
recently added autorun or active bar, that could affect performance,
especially if you are not using the latest ability to abort requests
for icons or text after a set time.

Also make sure you are using very latest beta with exe 4.5.04c.

It is true that PowerPro could lock up if you used an active bar or
autorun and one of your programs did not respond to PowerPro's
requests to update the icon or text on the bar. I have seen this
with scanning programs like Ad Aware running a full scan. However,
in my tests, the latest versions make this better, especially if you
optimize the wait setting for your system I also find around 100 ms
best for me.

I am also looking at a further improvement to optionally cache text
and icons and only update with the Windows system indicates that the
program text or icon changes.

If you experience problems, try first executing
exec debug
which will trace the windows PowerPro sees as unresponsive. Do you
ever reach 5 such windows? This is the current limit. If you get
there, then there could be issues.

I have never seen this exactly. However, with XP, XP itself will
create "ghost" windows for unresponsive windows which do nothing if
corresponding active button is pressed. I have seen this.

Or, have you changed default command for left clicking?

Try holding down the ctrl and shift key while hovering over active
button which will display the window handle at the end of the tool
tip. Use Windsector or similar to get list of Window handles. Is
PowerPro window handle correct?
