Actually, Egghead sold as much of themselves as they could...they're pretty

Not really.
Egghead.com filed for bankruptcy recently, undoubtedly in a prepackaged
absolute bankruptcy.
The assets were purchased by Fry's Electronics, one of the West's largest and
most competitive brick-and-morter retailers, and perhaps one of the very few
profitable ones. But one with absolutely no Web presence to date.
So, now you have a retailer with an exceptionally strong balance sheet (Fry's
is a closely held corporation, and issues no financial reports) and an
established Web-based seller with good potential.
Given adequate financial backing, and a commitment to be the volume leader,
which Fry's has proved it can be, a "resurrected" Egghead.com could become a
juggernaught.
