No insults intended, Drew. Sorry that you felt that way...

My point was just that not EVERY problem is Apple's problem, although it
usually seems that way to the end user...

Some hinges DO malfunction prematurely, but I've had plenty folks try to get
me to 'document' hinge problems on perfectly good hinges, enough to make me
wary of folks claming bad hinges. Yes, they can be weak, but that doesn't
mean all Wallstreet hinges are weak..

Yes, some Wllst batteries die prematurely.. Not all but some. Believe it or
not, the Wallstreet batteries (in general) are outperforming the Pismo
batteries, which have been dying in droves during the past few months. Does
that mean they're bad?? I don't know. It's nearly impossible to say.. How can
you prove conclusively that you have always cycled your battery correctly,
that you've never left it dead for several days, or that you never over
charged it? Of course some of that should be taken care of by the battery,
but there are ways around that...

So I don't know what to say. I would hardly classify a Wallstreet as a lemon.
A good friend of mine is still using his 1998 233 (14.1") non-stop, having
bought it in '98 to finish his law degree.. He uses it in court constantly,
and is still on the original battery, although he's bought a 2nd to
supplement. It has suffered horribly under his clumsy hands (he bounced it
down the steps at the state capitol blding once, and every corner bears
marks). Yet some how it continues to perform quite well...

I'm sure there are as many happy owners as unhappy, so I don't want to
belabor the point..

Thanks,
David
