(Although this is sort of 1 off, you should probably bring this thread
to the G-books list)

Hmmm. This seems to be a common problem with Wallstreet batteries.
Mine has been toast for about 1.5 years now (I never bothered buying a
new one). Everyone seems to have a different explanation for this
problem, and Apple flatly refuses to recognize that there is any issue
w/ the Wallstreet charge card/battery combination. There have been
litterally hundreds of posts to Apple's support discussion forum about
this issue.

Some people suggest getting a new battery, some suggest replacing the
charge card. I did the latter - FWIW, it made no difference. I don't
want to waste $$ on a new battery that will die a few months later, so
I've never bought a new one.

If you get a reasonable response to this issue, I'd love to hear it!

In the meantime, I've done EVERYTHING I can think of. It would appear
that my battery is just plain toast. Rather disappointing for a $170
battery and $2000+ computer.

If Wallstreets didn't have such good performance, I should consider
them road Apples - they have iffy batteries/power circuits, defective
display hinges that inevitably break, and the keyboard is too close to
the display when closing the lid causing scratches and other marks on
the LCD. Like I said, though, the performance of these machines
(provided you don't have the cacheless 233MHz version) is terrific.

Peace,
Drew
