If it's not repairable then you may need to get a replacement palm rest. I don't recall seeing any place listing track pad switches only (but then I haven't really looked THAT much). I was just inside both a G3 (more or less the same as a 3400) and a 5300. The part LOOKED the same but I wasn't really comparing them. The G3 had a broken plastic tab that the microswitch pressed against when operated. The switch is mounted to the button pad and this plastic tab is stationary, odd. I glued the tab back and after a couple of days it is still okay. I may have gotten lucky here. As someone mentioned there is a piece of software that makes a 5300s trackpad operate like the latter models where you can click, click and drag and so on with just the trackpad. I tried it on a 5300 and wasn't satisfied with it but it does work. The operation of the G3 software is nicer. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
