My story: wanted Mozilla on a 3400 with 80 MB Ram, but
need min. 8.6. Installed latter but using a copy of a
System folder from 8.5.1 from a 6100 (desktop). Added
the 8.6 upgrade, but had to add one-by-one the 8.1
extensions, etc. to use location manager, etc.
Now Mozilla works, but the memory problems
(fragmentation) are awesome - even using the defrag
freeware ultility. Back to 8.1 and Communicator 4.6 -
works very stable, no memory problems.
Adding more memory - I don't think that's the answer.
The original System SW with the 3400/180 Mhz was 7.x!
Best Wishes for the Christmas celebration to all!

=====
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
 thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
 all thy strength, and with all thy mind;
 and thy neighbour as thyself."
 Quoted from St Luke, 10:27.
