Hi

    I have 2 PB 3400 logic boards (a 180, & a 240) that exhibit similar
symptoms, the disease is acute sleeping sickness, the device that is
probably the cause is the PMU IC, a variation of the 68HC05 made for
Apple by Motorola. It's chip Number SC428009PV, 341S0187-B PMU, 1995
Apple, G73M0AVBZ9715. I have tried cross referencing everyone of these
numbers both on a Master Cross Reference List and on Motorola's list
with no joy, has anyone ever done any component level repairs on 3400's
and if so, who was your parts source?

A 68HC05 is a microcomputer complete with CPU, RAM, ROM and IO. You would need to replace it with a replacement from Apple that has the code in it. That or use a 68HC705 or 68HC805 of the right type that has been programmed with the code. And you probably can't get the code as it's protected.
