I have found that alcohol cleans but not enough. Ammonia on the other hand cleans very efficiently. I started with alcohol with my painting hacks and have gotten many fisheyes in the paint (dirt or oil still on the plastic). Once I switched to the Ammonia I haven't had any problems with fisheyes, adherence or chip resistance. [snip] MaxTek
There's ammonia, and then there's ammonia .. are we talking about NH4OH (ammonia in water - can probably only get at a chemical supplier), or are we talking about store-bought "ammonia," which is ammonia plus other detergents? (often called sudsy ammonia)
