<But is your external 2GB formatted HFS, or HFS+?>

Definitely not HFS. Whatever OS 8.1's Drive Setup utility does to create
a "1.9 GB Extended Macintosh Format" is what my 2 GB is formatted in
(would you or anyone else here know what that is?). Honestly, I didn't
remember anything at all about how it was formatted, only that when I
tried to Disk Doctor it, I got a prompt saying that Norton Utilities
wouldn't work. I just tried to run DD again to see what the exact prompt
was (I got this HD and formatted it months ago) and the reason why I
can't DD or SD this drive is because it is *not* HFS formatted.

However, I admittedly don't know the difference between HFS and HFS+ --
so if you'd like to enlighten me, I'd be happy to hear it.
