By the time 8.1 came out, most desktop machines were made with 2 GB, 4 GB or 6 GB EIDE drives, or 9 GB UW-SCSI drives. Most PowerBooks were made with smaller drives, of course.
8.1 was the first OS to support HFS+. And the Drive Setup 1.6.4 update to that OS supported Slave drives for the first time.
I see 1.7.3 on versiontracker. Is there some reason to stick to 1.6.4 or do I use it?
