The 240 would just hang and time out - that's when a "DNS error warning" or something to that effect would appear. On a hunch that the drive had bad sectors I attempted doing a low level format - it failed twice and could no longer be mounted. I took it to a PC and attempted formatting it under DOS and only got to 57% completion before it too failed. I am installing a 5400 rpm 4 gig Seagate Medalist today.
