Charlie, Assuming that in each case your respective drives were the boot drives, I think this confirms incorrect software settings. I never heard you reply that you confirmed the Modem Control Panel init string settings were the same on both drives. But try this... Remind us exactly what the first error message you get is and what you tried to do that caused it. Give us a step by step right up to that message and maybe one of us will come up with an idea.
