Charlie I meant software, not hardware (although reseating your modem card was also a good idea.). The software I was referring to is the Modem Control Panel. And, as Chuck Stinnett replied, the initialization string (or the wrong choice of modem) could cause the problem. Usually your modem manual will tell you the correct initialization string to use.
