I've got a PowerBase 180 that all of a sudden isn't responding. I turn it on and hear the startup sound and the power supply is on. But I don't think the hard disk is spinning up, and the screen stays completely black. When I wait a long time and nothing happens, I turn if off with the round power button on the front of the computer and the screen shows a bright flicker as it shuts off (the screen power is plugged into the base so it goes on and off when the computer is turned on/off).
Someone over on the PowerBooks list suggested a dead cache DIMM. Does that sound right to you? If so, where is that DIMM and how do I reseat it, etc.? Is it a DIMM just like the RAM? If so, I can figure out how to remove it. But I'm not sure where it is inside the computer.
