Also consider testing a new PRAM battery. 6100s do the exact same thing that your machine is doing when the PRAM batts are dead.
Are these batteries available at Radio Shack or Batteries Plus, or do I need to go to an Apple repair shop (we have several independent ones in this area). I expect they'll want a high ticket for these little batteries tho. Or is there a good online source for them?
Someone else pointed out powerwatch.com to me. There's a help file there that answers my question exactly. Just wanted to repeat that here for anyone that didn't already know about it!
