Jack Mileur writes:In the meantime, I will look into a Blue & White G3 to turn into a OS X upgrade machine. I wonder though, what's so special about that particular case, besides the low price? I love the color scheme, but that can't be why it's so attractive as an upgrade machine. --Jack************* In answer to that, for only one reason, let me say, "THe first Mac I opened up was a Mac Plus. You had to buy a long T handle with a torqx tip. I put the largest sims that would work in it and a driver board for an 19" B&W monitor." The B&W G3s have the big hinged side panel which lies down and all is Wide open ... easy to acess. The first time I saw one, it was nearly a religous experience. Robert H. Ah, but that just means that Apple finally returned to what made it different in the early days. Back when nobody wanted you inside their machines (Radio Shack put a sticker over the installation screws that voided the warranty if you opened your TRS-80, Model III or IV) and the PC hadn't been invented yet, the Apple II had a Velcro closure on its lid and you were expected to do all of your own expansion card installation, etc.
