I have never claimed you were the only one having problems hiding apps. I can't hide Azureus after a few days of uptime for example. But problems hiding PowerMail specifically doesn't seem to be widespread, nor can it be said to be certainly caused by PowerMail itself. You haven't said if you tried my suggestions with trying another account, so I'll refrain from further comments until you're interested in actually solving the problem.
