Jerome, >>Much greater flexibility of ALL parameters in filter controls and >>settings > >suggestions are welcome
Well, since you asked... :) A little +/- button to the right of each rule in a filter so we can delete them out of order as in the Finder's Find command? Oh, might as well: >>different audio announcements for each account selectable, and a >>search function in the audio settings so we can use other than the >>few sounds factory available. > >You can use a filter for this, however only Mac OS 9 sounds are supported >at this time. Can we get a folder in the PowerMail Files folder into which we can put any QuickTime-supported audio files that will be searched in/used by PowerMail (or at least a few of those formats)? In that folder specifically to facilitate easy backup and so as not to have to hunt through package contents when upgrading. (david.gordon): >>Show number of (at least) NEW emails present in each folder, not just >>"bold" the folder with new mail in it. > >I can see that already at the bottom of the Mail Browser window. I guess >you really want it next to each folder though? Yes, I have to say, I'd like this too, or an option to show it. (tass): >>>different audio announcements for each account selectable, >> >>You can do this via filters (I have different text-to-speech >>announcements for a few things). > >By "announcements" I don't mean "speech" stuff. ... Isn't is possible to play a .wav sound from AppleScript? I thought that's what Ben was implying. I see the utility of a per-account notification sound though. It's just a few extra filters. :) Speaking of extra filters... (david.gordon): >>Ability to specify folders for accounts "IN" and "SENT" boxes as a >>basic function of the account setting, instead of having to create >>a filter to do this. > >Just like Mail.app where everytime you create a new account it create >a new set of 'In', 'Out', 'Sent' folders and causes great confusion? A >filter is easy enough to do. Right, so you have a filter on incoming to run through SpamSieve (before or after the rest, let the experts show you how to set it up ;) ). A filter for each account to file them into different account folders and play a sound when doing that or call an AppleScript to play a sound. You can sort through it all with the Recent Mail browser. Then at least a filter for each account to handle outgoing messages to their proper sent folders. Sounds possible. tass - nice list of questions! :) Hope you find PowerMail to your liking. Chris --
