Subject: Powernet: Conditional Release of Radioactive Material

San Onofre has a provision in our radioactive material release procedure
for "conditional release" where certain items can be escorted from one
RCA to another if specified requirements are met (such as no loose
surface contamination, qualified escort, labels if required, etc.) We
currently require the completion of a line in a tabular log that
identifies the item, the escort, destination, etc.

My questions are:
1. First, do you have a similar provision?
2. Do you require completion of a log entry?
3. If so, is the log or logbook retained as a formal record and
eventually sent to records management?
4. If not a formal record, how long to you keep the logbook (perhaps
at the RCA exit)?

Thanks, Eric
