Tom

The inspector is correct, it is stated in the Michigan Rules. However, we,
like you, are NRC licensees and follow NRC rules. I believe other NRC
licensees in Michigan would follow NRC rules, not Michigan rules since
Michigan is a nonagreement state. A place where we do have to follow
Michigan rules is X ray devices registered with the State of Michigan
(e.g. hand held XRF devices). X ray devices are not regulated by the NRC.

Powernet: State Radiation Rules vs. six-month dosimetry monitoring
periods.

Fermi 2 and other NRC Licensed facilities are moving towards six-month
dosimetry monitoring periods. When I stated that to an inspector from
The State of Michigan he said that would be a noncompliance issue. He
said Michigan Rules state that monitoring periods must not be greater
then quarterly. Has anyone else run into this problem?
