Not for part 50 activities. In Ohio, the state regulates x-ray generation equipment and have run into monitoring requirements that would be contrary to what would be different if dealing with radioactive sources.

When I stated that to an inspector from The State of Michigan he said that would be a noncompliance issue. He said Michigan Rules state that monitoring periods must not be greater then quarterly.
