I work with a photographer who took delivery of 9600 a couple of weeks
ago. I've been running it almost non-stop since printing out large
prints, including quite a lot of 60" x 30" prints, using the standard
inks with the Matt Black cartridge (as opposed to Photo Black). Paper
was going to be the Epson Somerset Velvet but they didn't have stock of
it so have been using Somerset Enhanced Velvet (which is probably
exactly the same paper) and have used the canned Epson profile. Will
probably get the printer properly profiled but there wasn't time due to
the short time to print for the exhibition - caused by late delivery of
said printer!

So far, have had absolutely no problems with the printer. No banding, no
clogging, no nothing! Colours look good. Erm, that's it! Would be
interesting to know exactly what media the Epson guy was using and which
black cartridge was installed. The engineer that set up the printer when
it arrived installed the Photo Black initially. After doing some tests,
and some research, I felt that the Matt Black was probably the better
one to use for art paper. Once installed, the difference was vast.
Better blacks, better contrast - overall vastly superior. Photo Black
is, I think, better suited for glossy papers.
