I think you'll find most of the UK importers offer the same 'service'.

I know for a fact that you're right at the back of the queue on any grey
Leica product - that's if you manage to get onto the queue in the first
place.

The last major saving I made on a camera shipped over from the states was a
Deardorff 5X7 special. Then again, there's not too much to go wrong with
mahogany. (Although I did make the mistake of attempting to clear it through
customs at Heathrow myself. Not a project for the faint hearted nor if you
haven't got the best part of a day & a half to waste over something very
simple that shouldn't take longer than a few hours in the real world).

Then again, beaurocrats don't inhabit our planet.
