Hi Shangara, Yes, I would have thought formatting a drive, especially an Apple drive on an Apple machine should not be OS dependant... it should be... but if you check in Disk Utilities (er sorry - DU) under OS10.2.4 you will find that Apple are not allowing users to reformat a drive with OS9 drivers - so will this not prevent it from being 'seen' by the OS9 machine ?
I'm still wrestling with similar problem at the moment over formatting my LaCie drive to be seen and used by W2K, OSX and OS9. When you use DU to partition and format from 10.2.4 it does give the checkbox option to install OS9 drivers at the same time, which I'm told should be done definitely. Or am I missing something?
Cheers, David
