Hi Dennis & Patrick, I have recommended LaCie strongly in the past (I have 3 of their drives + numerous other bits) but feel that to be fair, I should now give feedback: One of my 200Gb D2 drives failed in April. Despite promises of 10day turnaround at max, it actually took 4 weeks to get it repaired. When it finally arrived back, it looked as though it had been thrown around the repair centre and kicked a few times. The beautiful aluminium case was dented and did not fit properly. It was returned immediately to LaCie who have made the case fit (while I waited!), but would not replace it. Needless to say that they will never get my business again. On the same tack, Robert White the camera dealer from Poole has now stopped dealing with them for similar reasons "Great product, poor service" was the gist of his comment to me....
The 200Gb drives have a 0.5% failure rate according to laCie > Hi Denis. I've used a LaCie 120GB Firewire for 8 months with no > problems at all except it's too small! They've come down in > price.
