Hi to you all, I need help from one of you OSX experts. I am running a G4 700 Quicksilver, with 1.2GB of RAM running under OSX.2.5. I have two hard drives, each containing three partitions. All has been working fine with the exception of a very occasional kernel panic (grey out) forcing a reboot annoying but not a disaster. Earlier today I downloaded the latest driver for my Wacom tablet and it loaded fine until it came to the end and said that it was now optimising the system. At this point it just froze at 0%. Having waited a ten minuets I force quit the action. When I rebooted the machine it was unhappy taking much longer than usual to come up and gave a warning that OSX could not recognise a drive. I then noticed that my second hard drive was missing and none of it's partitions were showing. The drive does appear to be present in the system profile but no partition detail is given. The question is, has the system lost some info and can it be rebuilt if so how, or have I lost the drive and all the data and can I test this without damaging the disk any further? The drive is a Maxtor 60GB 7500 and it is less than one year old.
