Can you believe it, just setting a similar system up to protect my on going
work, 2 mirrored hard drives with an archived version on DVD. Whilst
archiving before installing the second HD my main HD failed, it's only 18
months old showed no signs of temperament and looks as if the circuit board
has failed. You can't win can you. Fourtunately I am fairly sure that I have
archived most of what I would want back but it will take a day to sort. The
moral being "don't put of till tomorrow what you could do today", not that I
don't work long enough hours already. 120gb firewire drive, 180.00 ex vat,
got to be better than tape.
