However, the 'production manager' I spoke to claims that all images they receive are 'colour balanced', as they 'have lots of different output devices'. The fact that I was happy with the shots when they arrived didn't seem to interest him. I told him I had a calibrated workflow and he said that even so, 'all monitors are different'.
I've sent my client the perfect prints I got from both Boots and Phill Heywood (thanks again), and she will then confront the lab herself. After which I'll name them.
