With this very much in my mind at the moment (as I am tearing what
little hair I have out trying to get consistent prints from printers)
does anyone recommend any printers that are colour managed and savvy to
the needs of photographers? Or at least would understand what I'd be
talking about if I got intouch. I need to get large quantities of prints
from 1Ds files printed on a regular basis.

For my social photography (ie: printing large quantities of images) I
have tried the IGI system of emailing images off to labs around the
country, to Loxley Colour in Glasgow, to BCI in Banbury, to HCCI in the
counties, Metro in London, to my local lab in West London and with the
exactly the same file they have all come up with completely different
(and unacceptable images). Andy at Loxley seems to be the only person
who is willing to help me battle my way through it all but with limited
success. I am happy to spend as much time and effort as it requires
getting this right (at least as good as it was when I shot all this on
film) I'm not sure if this is just an issue with the 1ds as I am having
problems with files shot on a D60 as well. I understand that I have as
much to learn about all this as well so am not trying to pass the buck
... but for the sake of my fading coiffured locks I would greatly
appreciate any help/advice on or off list

Many thanks

Jim
