I just went and tested this, nothing better to do I suppose. In RAW mode
the D100 will shoot a sequence of three images before crying enough,
it'll do 6 large jpegs before stopping. In my case at least, it was not
affected by whether I used an IBM microdrive or bog standard CF cards
which I didn't (quite) expect...

Thanks again to Patrick, Geoff, and Rob for your help. As usual I missed
something. The green light on the back stays on until the transfer is complete. It
takes about 30 sec to transfer one shot. If I wait until the light goes out, all is
well. I now have Adobe RAW and it really offers a lot of flexability in manipulating
the RAW image. Now it's time for some serious shooting.
Thanks,
