Thanks for the suggestion. I have done this a few times. I still get Error 4, "Could not confirm the scanner connection... " Despite the fact that in the control panel, the diagnostic test confirms that the scanner is present.
I've had a lot of problems with this machine, probably time to return it for warranty repair. Other people seem to have found it ok.
