The 1ds is a wonderful piece of equipment.
I have found one small problem though. Blue skies appear clear and smooth. Much smoother than film. I have been shooting with Velvia film rated at 32 ASA so my exposures have been fairly long and apertures on medium format rather large. With the 1ds I have noticed some round dark splodges in the sky area. These are many pixels wide and extremely out of focus. After some puzzling I have realised that these marks are flying midges. They would certainly not have shown up on film because of the grain, shutter speed and aperture. I can only conclude that this camera is unsuitable for use in Scotland;-)

At the moment we are considering the purchase of a Canon EOS 1Ds digital camera which will be used for studio projects as well as for shoots on locations such as the interior of labs, hospitals etc. I was wondering if anybody on the list has had any particular negative experience with this camera. I apologise in advance if this subject has been already treated before.
