Canon service have so far been totally unhelpful, and a) seem reluctant to

Unfortunately the camera appeared to be ok when I bought it (old files are
ok), and it's 7 months old so no redress to the credit card company.

This is odd. This week I dropped my 1DS off at Borehamwood (on Tuesday) for a sensor change and was told it should be ready on Friday.

Reading this made me panic in case they really didn't have sensors, so I rang Safda Zaman at Canon, who is most helpful, and he told me that when they are out of sensors, the get them more or less next day, delivered from Amsterdam. He seemed very surprised that Fixation would have told anyone that they needed to wait till next year for a sensor.

I just felt I should put in a good word for Canon's CPS service department. (Ok where's my free camera?) :)
