Steve,

I think your best option by far is to go with a router. They don't need any driver software: you just enter the settings in the Network pane in System preferences, e.g:

Location: Automatic
Show: Built-in Ethernet

TCP/IP tab>
Configure: Using DHCP
IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx DNS Servers xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask: (probably 255.255.255.0 or similar)
Router: (this will be the IP address of the router, probably 192.168.1.1 or close to this)
Search Domains: (Optional, usually the name of the ISP, e.g. mailbox.co.uk)

This will be the safest way to move those digital images around the world (just for the list mum!)

Regards,

Clive

After we move studio the internet access computer will be running OSX.
In OSX can you have the same access system for all connected computers via a
setup in the OS? I know that Vicom produce Internet Gateway for this purpose
which includes a firewall but this may be yet another layer of complication
we don't need.
Obviously a router is better and we may well go down that route (sorry for
the pun).
