Just signed up to Virgin Broadband where I live in gloucestershire, using
OSX (10.2.6) and paying 24.99 pcm (not the cheapest but one of few
options).

Up and running the day they said it would be and functions perfectly. I have
been given an Alcatel Speedtouch modem (dont know if this is good or bad)
and everything is fine.

Sorry do not really know about transfer rates etc, but as far as I am
concerned it works.

Also know that they have been experiencing a few problems recently with high
demand for the service but a tecchie guy told me that they were getting new
kit up and running on November 14th which would see them through the next 3
years so I figure that they should be good for some time.
