I've had no problem with BT Broadband or Openworld while running Panther but, you may have some incompatibilities running on your mac. Try run Norton, fix the issues in the worst case scenario (it happened to me) after doing a clean up and re-install all backup, everything works fine. It doesn't matter if I'm using a 19 monthly broadband!

Good luck,

Michael,
At the studio I had BT Openworld broadband adsl and they provided a plug and go Intel modem, I refused the Alcatel as I was aware via this list there were problems with OS X,
Although I was on OS 9 at the time, when I changed to Panther a few weeks ago, the intel will not work with OS X, I've replaced it with a adsl router and installed a network all working fine.

Different story at home, where I use BT Broadband (different company apparently) and was supplied with a very simple to install BT Voyager 100 modem, which handled the change to Panther without a single glitch.

Therefore, I would recommend using BT Broadband as opposed to Openworld.

Hope this helps
