Isn't that the same as putting a space in front of the file name? I use
either spaces, bullet points or a minus sign to bring a file name or folder
name to the top.

I just find the Finder preferences a joke. They could easily give you ten
more options to make navigating easier, customising Finder windows and,
what's more, put the preferences in one place!
